The Tamarindo girls trip

Seven days on the Gold Coast. The chef, the catamaran, the picnic, the photographer, every transfer. Planned and booked by a local. Free.

A real week we have run on the ground. You show up. Jenny handles the rest.

The trip

A girls trip to Tamarindo, done beautifully.

Barefoot mornings with a private chef. A styled picnic on the sand at golden hour. A wildlife glide through the estuary. One legendary sunset aboard a catamaran. Sun-drenched, a little wild, and the kind of week the group talks about for years.

Every piece below is a real day Jenny has run on the ground. You show up. She handles the rest.

Every experience pre-booked at the local rate. No markups, no fee to you.

Day one · Arrival

Arrive, exhale, settle in

  • Afternoon

Land at Liberia (LIR), about 45 minutes to Tamarindo. Transfers for the whole week are pre-arranged, so you walk out and get in the van. Your golf carts are waiting at the villa, the breeziest way to move around town.

  • Evening

Welcome dinner, your call: Pangas Beach Club, one of Tamarindo’s most-loved oceanfront tables, or stay in and have the private chef cook the first night at the villa.

  • Night

A barefoot walk on the sand to decompress. In nesting season Tamarindo is a sea turtle beach, ask about a guided night turtle tour.

Day two · Golden hour

Surf, then a styled sunset picnic

  • Morning

Private vegan chef breakfast number one at the villa: acai bowls, coconut chia, mango salsa on toasted cassava, cold-pressed juice from local fruit.

  • Mid-morning

Beginner surf lesson with Mousehead Surf School. Tamarindo is one of the best learn-to-surf beaches in Central America, the whole group up on boards, no experience needed. Read the surf guide.

  • Late afternoon

A fully styled sunset picnic on the sand: rattan mats, tropical florals, chilled rose, fresh ceviche, and a photographer for the whole golden hour as the sky goes amber to violet.

03

Day three · Into the wild

Llanos de Cortez waterfall

  • Early morning

Leave by 7 to 8am, about an hour out, to beat the heat and the crowds. Llanos de Cortez is Guanacaste’s most spectacular and accessible waterfall, a wide curtain into a turquoise pool ringed by jungle.

  • Morning

Swim under the falls. Stand in the cascade, float in clear water, one of the most photogenic spots in the country. Entry is seven dollars. Bring a waterproof phone case.

  • Afternoon

Back to Tamarindo. Pool and cabanas at Langosta Beach Club, then a celebratory dinner with live music at Delmonico’s.

Day four · Pura vida

Yoga, wellness, mangrove magic

  • Morning

Private vegan chef breakfast number two: grain bowls, avocado tostadas on local bread, watermelon agua fresca, coconut yogurt and tropical granola by the pool.

  • Mid-morning

Private yoga on your villa terrace or beachfront at sunrise, your call. Breathwork, flow and grounding built for a group reset. All levels.

  • Late afternoon

A guided boat tour through the Tamarindo estuary’s ancient mangroves with a naturalist. Crocodiles, howler monkeys, herons, iguanas. One of the most underrated experiences in the area.

05

Day five · On horseback

Ride to Playa Conchal

  • Morning

Horseback with Pacific Horses through jungle trails onto the crushed-shell beach of Playa Conchal, about an hour from Tamarindo. The guides take great photos along the ride. See the Conchal guide.

  • Late morning

Swim at Conchal. It is made of millions of tiny shells instead of sand, which is why the water runs that clear turquoise.

  • Afternoon

In-villa spa: massage therapists poolside, in your own space. Then cruise the carts into town for boutiques, handmade jewelry and local art.

Day six · The main event

Sunset catamaran

  • Morning

Slow morning. Save your energy. Beach, cold brew, a last swim at Playa Tamarindo.

  • Afternoon into evening

The one everyone remembers. The catamaran runs the Gold Coast past volcanic islands, dolphins often alongside. Snorkel, paddleboard, kayaks, drinks, dinner aboard, and a sunset from open water that is hard to top.

  • Good to know

The top boats sell out weeks ahead. Jenny holds your date when you book through her. See the catamaran guide.

07

Day seven · Farewell

Last sunrise, pura vida

  • Early morning

Wake before the world and walk to the water one last time. The Tamarindo sunrise, gold and mist, is a quiet goodbye.

  • Morning

A final acai bowl or cortado from a local cafe. Pack the shells and the tan. About 45 minutes back to Liberia (LIR).
